The Influence of a Godly Life

Foundation Scripture: 1 Peter 2:9-4:19

I. God has made us a special people unto Himself so that we might proclaim the praises of the Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. (2:9)

II. We are to live honorably among the lost so that they will glorify God in the day of visitation (present or on the Lord’s return)

III. How do we live honorably among the lost?

A. Submit yourself to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake (2:13)

B. Servants, be submissive to your masters (2:18-25)

C. Wives, be submissive to your husbands (3:1-6)

D. Husbands, dwelling with your wives with understanding (3:7)

E. Treating believers with compassion and speaking blessing (3:8-12)

E. Suffering for righteousness’ sake (3:13-17)

F. Serve others with your God-given gifts (4:7-11)

G. Suffering for God’s glory (4:12-19)
