· There are approximately 1 billion people that do not have enough to eat. That’s more people than live in the US, Canada, and Europe combined.
· 25,000 people die each day from hunger
· Every 5 seconds a child dies from hunger
Poverty
· Almost half of the world (3 billion people) live on less that $2.50 a day
· 80% of the world lives on less than $10 a day
Disease
· 6 million children die of preventable disease a year
· 15 million children are orphaned each year due to AIDS and HIV
War
· It is estimated that in the 20th century there has been 167 to 203 million deaths because of war and oppression.
Death
· From 1920 to 2008 there has been a reported 858 million reports of abortion world wide
· An average of 3.5 million abortion happen monthly on a global scale
Slavery
· There are 27 million slaves worldwide. More than there was in all combined years in all human history
· Child trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the world
· The average slave cast $90
· At least 14,500 slaves are trafficked in the US each year
· Human trafficking is a $32 billion per year industry
Sex industry
· Pornography is $97 billion a year business
