Metaphor

What is a metaphor?
Allow for Answers
There are a lot of metaphors in the Bible. Jesus liked to relate spiritual consepts to regular things that people could understand...
In the day’s of Jesus most people built their own homes. or were at least very involved in the building of their house.
How many of you have seen a house built?
Allow for Answers?
Have you ever seen a house build without a foundation? No of course not. it would be like the play house that the man in the video built.
it would be kinda wobbly and probably not safe.
So with that in mind lets read what Jesus Says:
Matthew 7:24–27 NKJV
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
so what are these sayings of His that he is talking about… basically, it’s everything He says.... If you read especially the NT but also this is true for the whole Bible. You are ready Gods word. and Jesus is telling us that he wants HIS WORDS to be the foundation that we build our whole lives on
words like John 3:16
John 3:16 NKJV
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
and words like Jer 29:11
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
or words like 1 Cor 13:13
1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
and Matthew 6:9-13
Matthew 6:9–13 NKJV
In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
how about Gal 5:22-23
Galatians 5:22–23 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
