Storms in the Christian’s life (Don’t let them surprise you) I Peter 4:12 Do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you!, as though something strange were happening to you! I Peter 1:6-7  In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,  so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I. Storms will come in every believer’s life Mark 6:45-48 He made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.  And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray.  And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land.  And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about 3 a.m. he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them. Jer. 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can understand it? II. Storms seem eternal but cease at God’s will Psalm 105:19 (of Joseph) Until what he had said came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. III. When storms come, Jesus is with us whether we recognize Him or not Deu. 31:8 The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Matt. 28:20 Jesus said, “I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Isa. 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you! Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with Me! Conclusion Are you in a storm, God sent or you earned? Are you struggling to find some answers? Would you like a partner to stay with you in the storm? God is right here, He knows what you are going through, reach out to Him now!
