I grew up picked on for my clothing because we could only go to fays, or woolworths.

If we had extra money we could buy one good tshirt for clothing.

We were so poor that my mother who raised 4 kids on her own had 2 to 3 jobs and and our subsidized rent was 8 dollars a month.

My wife ran into a previous landlord of ours who “felt so sorry for us”
