Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Paul, teaching how to behave like a Christian began by saying...
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
He began with, “Let Love be without Hypocrisy”.
Kim said, “She probably prayed for half the people in Fort Smith....”
And ended by encouraging us to be given to hospitality.
What Paul taught with these words, Dorothy Byrd taught with her life and actions.
She taught us how to live.
She taught us how to die.

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

The beautiful loving care that she received was steadfast and sure.
As Grandmas ability to communicate with words was slipping, her ability to express her needs, whether physical, emotional or spiritual suffered. When her behavior became agitated, Shelby and Kim patiently sought to understand what underlying needs were prompting her behavior.
Never knowing fully what was in her heart and mind at times can be very hard. There is much that we couldn’t know. But, God knows. God knows the depths of our hearts and minds, even when they are chaotic and disordered.
We can take comfort in knowing that there is One who fully knows us all.
He Never Forgets:
He Never Forgets:
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
....Nor Alzheimers.
The prodigal son’s father ran and embraced him before he could say a word. He knew what was in that boys heart....
