Times & Seasons (Vv.
1-3):
Paul has addressed with the Thessalonian believers their questions about what has happened and will happen to the blessed believers who have died in Christ.
They were concerned if these faithful believers and blessed loved ones would miss out on some blessing since they had already died and had not seen the coming of the Lord.
Paul assures them and us that they have not missed the coming of the Lord, nor have they missed anything in relation to that glorious day.
Now, Paul transitions to deal with briefly the time and seasons.
When would the day of the Lord arrive?
Paul is obviously biblically sound and wise in dealing with this question and we can too learn from it too.
When someone asks when will the Lord come for His Church there are a few clear thoughts and passages we should convey.
Our Focus is Not on the Timing or Season: On multiple occasions Jesus was asked this question and here a few of his responses:
, = No one knows the day or hour, not the Angels nor the Son, but the Father only.
Not for you to know the Times or Seasons.
You are to be my witnesses...
Our focus in the fact that our Lord and Savior is coming again and that should compel believers to live lives pleasing to him and unbelievers to examine themselves for he comes to judge the living and the dead.
Also note the Scriptures don’t teach or tell us to not know the truths about his coming, or to understand the world around us.
That is a responsibility of ours as believers in this world.
The key is that we are not to be swayed, distracted, or discouraged by the things around us, but we must find comfort - in the faith, hope, and love we have through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Paul had no other reason to write more about the times and seasons, for they knew the truth that Christ’s coming for his church is immanent.
