Introduction

Today we start Session 1 of our new year. We will be covering the Topic of “God the Creator” over these six weeks. Today we want to hit creation itself, a little bit on evolution and how Jesus fits into all of this.
This is a topic that can go on and on and on for quite some time. To completely hit these topics and give each and every piece of this the time it needs, it would need an immense amount of time, study and discussion. Here is a hint: they make college courses that hit on each of these topics. Per course you would be required to read for at least 700 pages, not including your scripture reading, write multiple papers and take tests.
We will not be doing all of that. I have to hit some key points to try and give you an overview of all of this, while trying to apply it to you and your life. Please pray for me!

Creation

So, I think most of you know Creation Account. For those who don’t, we will be reading it in just a moment. You see, if you are a “Christian,” you believe in the six day creation account. But for a lot of people today it is hard for them to grasp, and some want to ignore this text altogether.
So lets read
So that was pretty straight forward right.

Evolution/ Big Bang

So after hearing the creation account we are going to hit the other side of the argument a bit.
S.W. Hawking Says,
“Since events before the Big Bang have no observational consequences, one may as well cut them out of the theory, and say that time began at the Big Bang. Events before the Big Bang, are simply not defined, because there's no way one could measure what happened at them. This kind of beginning to the universe, and of time itself, is very different to the beginnings that had been considered earlier. These had to be imposed on the universe by some external agency. There is no dynamical reason why the motion of bodies in the solar system can not be extrapolated back in time, far beyond four thousand and four BC, the date for the creation of the universe, according to the book of Genesis. Thus it would require the direct intervention of God, if the universe began at that date. By contrast, the Big Bang is a beginning that is required by the dynamical laws that govern the universe. It is therefore intrinsic to the universe, and is not imposed on it from outside. “
-The entire argument of the Big Bang falls on the hitch that God Does not exist and if you ignore anything that could happen before the bang.
So the Big Bang is true if God doesn’t exist and if you believe that through nothing, something came, and ignore the fact that , thats impossible!
So they are asking you to have faith and ignore the flaws
They say the only way Genesis could have happened is if there was a direct intervention from God! (That is exactly what we are saying.)
R.C. Sproul Describes Creation very accurately and paints a beautiful picture this way:
“The first sound uttered in the universe was the voice of God commanding, “Let there be!” It is improper to say that this was the first sound “in” the universe because until the sound was made there was no universe for it to be in. God shouted into a void. Perhaps it was a kind of primal scream directed at the empty darkness.
The command created its own molecules to carry the sound waves of God’s voice farther and farther into space. Yet sound waves would take too long. The speed of this imperative exceeded the speed of light. As soon as the words left the Creator’s mouth, things began to happen. Where His voice reverberated, stars appeared, glowing in unspeakable brilliance in tempo with the songs of angels. The force of divine energy splattered against the sky like a kaleidoscope of color hurled from the palette of a powerful artist. Comets crisscrossed the sky with flashing tails like Fourth of July skyrockets.
The act of creation was the first event in history. It was also the most dazzling. The Supreme Architect gazed at His complex blueprint and shouted commands for the boundaries of the world to be set. He spoke, and the seas were shut behind doors, and the clouds were filled with dew. He bound the Pleiades and buckled the belt of Orion. He spoke again, and the earth began to fill with orchards in full bloom. Blossoms burst forth like springtime in Mississippi. The lavender hues of plum trees danced with the brilliance of azaleas and forsythia.”
The Big bang is based on something that requires faith. Faith, that in Chaos, Order can come. That chance is why we are here. That the universe can be created from nothing and that how that happened, does not matter.
Christians believe that God did intervene. That time was created by him and therefore he controls it. He is big enough to make this happen and the only one who can create something out of nothing. Our faith is in God and His Existence.
Is everyone following? Any Questions?

Jesus

Okay so now that you have all that information. How does Jesus fit into all of this?
Anyone got an idea?....
There are some of you in this room, that think they can truly believe in Jesus, the Big Bang and Evolution. Let’s Explore that thought.
First lets read -  “and beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.”
Let’s read
So what am I saying by us reading this? Let’s put it together here. 1+2=3
So, if Jesus explained to all of them the scripture concerning himself and John Says that Jesus is the Word and He was there in creation.... What does that equal too?
Jesus
The world came into existence through Jesus
The scripture tells that Jesus told them that He was there in the beginning! That He is the word of God and that through him, the Universe came into existence.
Question: can you believe in Jesus and discredit Genesis?
No, you can’t. Because Jesus says he was there. If you discredit Genesis and the creation account, You discredit Jesus.
There is a scripture where it warns for those not to add or take away from scripture, and even if an Angel came to you and said otherwise, that angel would be condemned.
Scripture always turns back to scripture. You can’t divide it to please yourself.
What Do you Believe?
It’s Either Jesus or it’s the world. You can’t have both in this case. This is a faith thing. You either have Faith in an All-powerful, all loving, all just, all knowing Creator, or you have faith in by chance nothing became everything through chaos into order.
Don’t be like those false teachers and prophets of the past. Don’t twist the Word of God. As we continue, you will see that is how we got here in the first place. We listened to someone who twisted God’s words and we got played.
The Triune God is the Creator of the universe. Either we believe that or we believe all this is a fake.
This weekend the homework will be put up on the website for all of you. With the homework, I will ask you to give me questions about this topic, so that we can start a dialogue.
We will break into small groups after I pray and discuss a couple things.
