How to Accomplish This Purpose:
Introduction: Most tasks require a certain attire. When you mow the lawn, you would need to dress in a manner that is suitable. It is no different when comes to spiritual things. We must put on our garments of humility in order to serve one another. Jesus demonstated this in John 13 when he took a towel in his hand and washed the disciples feets. When I was a little boy, I remember seeing the saints wash each other's feets during the communion service. They did this to show each other that they were servants. Serving one another is a biblical concept. But the manner of serving is the heart of this biblical concept. It must be with humility. Warren Wiersbe said, "Humility is not demeaning ourselves and thinking poorly of ourselves. It is simply not thinking of ourselves at all! "
Have you ever gone into a restaurant and had a waitress or waiter who served you but had a bad attitude? He or she was serving but not with the right attitude. Consequently, you either reported that waitress or you just did not give her a tip. But if she served with humuility you were almost compelled by attitude to give her something. There are much blessings when we serve with humility. In our text, I would like to give you at least four blessing that comes with serving with humility.
