God's Leash

A father took his young son jogging with him one morning. The -father took a familure route but one with which his son, was not familiar. While they ran together, they passed a house with a large dog in the front yard. As soon as the dog saw them, he stood up and ran toward them as quickly as he could. The dog was growling and barking, and when he approached the two, he leaped toward them. The father was calm and barely noticed the dog. The son was terrified and almost fell down as he tried to avoid the dog.

The father realized something that his son didn't know. The dog was on a leash that would not allow the dog to even touch the man and his son. The father understood that this ferocious dog could not harm him and his son. The son did not understand this truth and acted accordingly.

There are things in our lives that act as this dog did. They produce fear and trip us up in our walk. As we walk with the Father, we need to understand that these things have limited power over us. God is in control; He has not forgotten us. His power is sufficient. No power can break loose from his leash
