When your brother sins against you

Jesus had explained the steps taken when someone sins against you. Peter asked, how may times should this be done? Seven times? Peter thought this may have ben enough, may be even excessive.

Jesus’ answer was an unlimited number. Whenever it happens.

Jesus then wanted to teach them, and us today, about forgiveness.

Forgive thankfully

The unmerciful servant had an opportunity to express appreciation to the king by being as merciful as him.

The king’s forgiveness-took pity on him, canceled the debt, and let him go.

This is what the unmerciful servant should have done.

God has done for us. We thank God by forgiving others.

Forgive unconditionally

What moved the ing to forgive the servant? No special reason except pity.

God has forgiven you. Why? Was there any reason God should forgiven you?

Who they are and what the sin was.

God has forgiveness for all of us, whatever the sins. Whether a believer or unbeliever.

Forgive repeatedly

How many times has God forgiven you? Every time you sin. Not every sin is against us. Every sin is against God. We have numerous sins.

Our sins are too serious, the debt too big or much for us to pay.

That’s why Jesus had to come to our rescue.

God forgives us everyday, every hour, every minute, ever sin. He has forgiven us every thought, every word, every deed.
