DISCOVERING VISION

Passion without a plan is just presumption

Matthew 26:33 ESV
Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.”

A few steps to discovering your vision...

1) Determine your Values

What breaks your heart? What angers you? What drives you to change?

2) Dare to Dream

What would you do for free? What scares & excites you the most?

3) Develop your Leaders

Is there a clear path to growth? Are people excited to follow?

MAINTAINING VISION

Any leader can cast a vision, but only great leaders can maintain a vision

1 Corinthians 15:58 NIV
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1) Hit Repeat

Remind your guests, members, volunteers, and leaders of the vision REPEATEDLY

2) Just Say No

Say no to some good things so that you can focus on the best things

3) Keep the Tribe Strong

Make sure leaders are fighting for each other, not with each other

4) Create Space

INCREASING VISION

If we keep settling for less, we won’t know how to step into more

Luke 19:26 ESV
‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

1) Create Space

Great leaders are proactive, not reactive

2) Set Goals

Celebrate victories and learn from mistakes

3) Friend UP

Surround yourself with those who are better than you

4) Take Risks

The worst failure for a leader is not trying

5) Lazer Focus

Seek to be great at a few things

John 14:12–14 ESV
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
