Often in life things don’t work out as we like them to.

Life has a way of throwing us curb balls.

We have wrote our life story and did not include the current series of hiccups, or the current situation full of pain or current circumstances full of calamity!

Jeremiah has come to his breaking point.

After fulfilling his assignment to prophesy to the people of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem that they we surely going in to captivity.

He showed the them that the broken vessel would be them.

God would destroy the the vessel he had made.

he go into further rebellion.

Pashur the chief priest publicly beats Jeremiah and puts him in stocks.

This means he imprisoned him.

Locked him up.

Jeremiah did not deserve this treatment.

He was only doing what the Lord had commanded him to do.

This is the risk of ministry.

it often comes with persecution.

This is why Jesus said Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

We can expect harsh treatment when you are speaking up for God.

Sometimes its gets so bad its Internal spiritual combustion.

have been there in ministry when you question Lord why? Must it be so painful.

Must it be so hard?

Then you remember what he said I will never leave you or forsake you.

This is good news we need during our worst times.

we need to know as i said two weeks ago that we are in the potters hand.

Verse 7 ministry of aggravation

7  O LORD, you have deceived me,

and I was deceived;

you are stronger than I,

and you have prevailed.

I have become a laughingstock all the day;

everyone mocks me.

What we fail to realize that God knows what you are going through.

1.Trust the Lord in Prayer

The Hymn writer said,

Oh, what peace we often forfeit

Oh, what needless pain we bear

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged

Take it to the Lord in prayer

Jeremiah said ,

God you have deceived me!

Actually the problem was not with God deceiving Jeremiah it was actually Jeremiah had deceived Himself.

Jeremiah had made some assumptions about his ministry that God never sanctioned.

This a very bad habit that we make.

We make some unsanctioned assumptions.

We assume if we get the courage to share our testimony then every will respond favorably.

We assume that when we shared our struggle with that one who we thought we can trust they would hold our secrets like they hold theirs.

Here is the problem you share your business with a person that cant hold their own business more less yours!

Jeremiah felt like he was sold a bad bill of goods.

This is not working for me.

Beating, public humiliation, mocking.

Lord I did not sign up for this!

Contradicting contest

5  “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

and before you were born I consecrated you;

I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”

7 But the LORD said to me,

“Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’;

for to all to whom I send you, you shall go,

and whatever I command you, you shall speak.

8  Do not be afraid of them,

for I am with you to deliver you,

declares the LORD.”

9 Then the LORD put out his hand and touched my mouth.

And the LORD said to me,

“Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

The Lord is transparent.

He doesn’t mind you coming and pouring out your complaint but he will remind of what e has already said concerning you.

Oh what peace we often forfeit .....

Jeremiah was complaining because he did not have a poplar message.

Every preacher need to more concern of preaching what the Lord has said to preach instead of a popular message.

Its clear people don’t want to hear about sin.

Not so excited about trials and tribulation.

They want to hear motivational sermons saying God’s about to bless you with a new car, and a new house.

We will shout on that stuff!

what we need to hear is God’s patience is running thin.

Just take it to the Lord in prayer.

Vs 9. Fire within internalize word

2 Trust the Lord’s plan for your life.

I told you two weeks ago to trust the process.

Same thing trust the plan.

As a matter of fact you must learn how to persevere through the plan.

How many have confident in the Lord?

As frustrated as Jeremiah was he could not quit his call.

Look at Verse 10

If I say, “I will not mention him,

or speak any more in his name,”

there is in my heart as it were a burning fire

shut up in my bones,

and I am weary with holding it in,
