Exodus 3:1–11 KJV 1900
Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

Exodus 4:14–16 KJV 1900
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
The scale of the universe is beyond our comprehension.
10 billion trillion stars - 1 with 22 0’s
We’re constantly spinning at approximately 700 miles per hour
We’re orbiting around the Earth at 67,000 miles per hour
Our solar system is circling the milky way galaxy at approximately 515,000 miles per hour
We are about 92 million miles from the sun at any given time. If that number changed by 5% life would not be possible
If God can manage all that, why is it that we think when He tells us to do something, He doesn’t know what He’s talking about?
Moses is so caught up in his own insecurities that he argues with God over and over again, telling Him why he is wrong about what he can do.
In verses 3:11, he says he can’t do it. 3:13 he claims he won’t know how to answer them when they ask who sent him. 4:1 he says they won’t listen to him or believe him. 4:10 he says he’s not eloquent and slow of speech and of tongue, in other words he doesn’t speak good. And then finally in 4:14 where we read at the start he still insists he can’t do it, and asks God to send someone with him to do the speaking.
He resisted God so much, and for so long, and made so many excuses that finally God’s anger was kindled and he gave Moses his way. Moses didn’t trust that God knew what he was doing, and he ends up paying the price for it down the road.
You can read in verses 1-6, it’s Aaron who leads the people in idolatry and creates a golden statue of a calf for the people to worship while Moses is up on the mountain receiving the stone tablets with God’s law. And just like that the people are started down a road of idolatry that they struggle with for the rest of their history.
When God tells you to do something, it’s because he knows what he’s doing. He knows your strengths and your weaknesses. He knows what you can and can’t do, and he knows what he can do through you.
