What the Bible says about Grief

THOSE IN MOURNING ARE WORTHY OF SPECIAL ATTENTION!

Mathew 5:4 God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. (NLT)
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed (NLT)

The Difference Between Grief and Mourning

GRIEF - DEEP SADNESS CAUSED BY DEEP INTERNAL PAIN OF SOUL
Grief - Deep sadness caused by deep internal pain of soul
Why then does my suffering continue? why is my wound so incurable? Your help seems as uncertain as a seasonal brook, like a spring that has gone dry. (NLT)
WHY THEN DOES MY SUFFERING CONTINUE? WHY IS MY WOUND SO INCURABLE? YOUR HELP SEEMS AS UNCERTAIN AS A SEASONAL BROOK, LIKE A SPRING THAT HAS GONE DRY.
MOURNING - IS THE EXPRESSION OF GRIEF; BEWAIL, LAMENT, TO BE SAD, WEEP
Mourn - Expression of grief; to lament, bewail, weep, to show sadness etc..

There must be a time allocated to mourning

A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance. (NLT)
The people of Israel mourned for Moses on the plains of Moab for thirty days, until the customary period of mourning was over. (NLT)
When they arrived at the threshing floor of Atad, near the Jordan River, they held a very great solemn memorial service , with a seven -day period of mourning for Joseph’s father. (NLT)
