ESGAL11 Fruit of the Spirit Part 5 Peace
Benediction: To say together leader/response
Litany on Peace (from the Scriptures)
Leader:
The way of peace they know not/and there is no justice in their paths;/they have made their roads crooked,/no one who goes in them knows peace (Is. 59:8).
Response:
Depart from evil, and do good;/seek peace and pursue it (Ps. 34:14).
Leader:
Where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity (Jas. 3:16–17).
Response:
And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace (Jas. 3:18).
Leader:
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God. (Matt. 5:9).
Response:
Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14).
Leader:
If you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you (Matt. 5:23).
Response:
Leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift (Matt. 5:24).
Leader:
He is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility (Eph. 2:14).
Response:
And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near (Eph. 2:17).
Leader:
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:7).
Response:
The God of peace be with you all. Amen. (Rom. 15:33).1
