The Holy Spirit is the Gift
The Holy Spirit is the Gift
who is the giver of spiritual gifts.
Spiritual gifts enable us to be in relation to other people, especially other believers.
They are tools to build with, rather than toys to play with or weapons to fight with.
Each believer is given at least one gift.
()
The Holy Spirit determines who receives which gifts.
()
Each gift is equally valuable. ()
We are to use our gifts to serve others for the benefit of the body. (; )
We are commanded to use our gifts. ()
Exercising our gifts will help us develop spiritual maturity. ()
Pray for revelation
Pray for revelation
God will reveal our gifts through His Holy Spirit. Believers should pray and study what God says about gifts in His Word. We should also remember God uses other believers to affirm our gift. Sometimes God may also use spiritual gift assessment tools to reveal His gifts.

10 Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God.
11 If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Some lump them as gifts that have ceased. Cessation of gifts.
We see sign gifts as early at Exodus. The ‘signs’ Moses performed were not abilities given for the rest of his life, but for the purpose and time God decided.

A spiritual gift is an expression of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers which empowers them to serve the body of Christ, the church.
There is a danger in using them in an unspiritual way: Mercy enables. Prophecy, without grace and love, offends.
