Harvest:
Forgiveness
Obedience/REPENTANCE
Chapter 5 end:
Jesus had been teaching
John 6:1-2
John 6:1–2 ESV
After this Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias. And a large crowd was following him, because they saw the signs that he was doing on the sick.
Our lives will create a following b/c of love & generosity
when we are obedient to Christ people will take note and want to hear what we have to say
some try to force it on others
we are called to draw them with our good works so that they want to hear
Some people will tell you how awesome they are
others will show you
slower to see it in someones actions but will be lasting
WE MUST LIVE IN OBEDIENCE TO BUILD AN AUDIENCE FOR CHRIST
TALK ABOUT IT...
John 6:3–11 ESV
Jesus went up on the mountain, and there he sat down with his disciples. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Lifting up his eyes, then, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward him, Jesus said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?” He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be enough for each of them to get a little.” One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, “There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are they for so many?” Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. Jesus then took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted.

And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.
We feel insignificant but when we give God all we have then it will satisfy
we must give
The boy didn’t give 4 loaves & 1 fish to make sure that he had enough for self but he gave it all to be used by Jesus
when we short change God it is a reflection of our lack of faith
in turn we will be short changing ourselves & others of the blessings of God
He distributed...
It is tough giving our time b/c it’s limited
everyone is nervous giving their money
it’s called faith for a reason
John 6:12 ESV
And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.”
John 6:12–13 ESV
And when they had eaten their fill, he told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.
When we give it all we will have more when we are done than when we started!
Because our fill is found in pleasing the Father
TALK ABOUT IT
SUMMARIZE v.14-24
SUMARIZE
People saw and believed that He was the Messiah
Jesus knew that they wanted to kidnap Him to make Him king
so he went to the mountain for some alone time
Evening comes & and the disciples were out on their boat
Jesus walks out to them
The Next day the crowd was till there but saw that Jesus and the disciples were gone and went to find them
We will have to use our resources to get to the place where we have an audience that will listen but when we have an audience we have to tell them the right things...
John 6:25–27 ESV
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.”
SUMMARIZE V. 25-27
John 6:28–29 ESV
Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
SUMMARIZE
Jesus rebukes their lack of true faith for a minute then...
John 6:35–40 ESV
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”
TEACH V. 28-40 & READ SOME
more than seeing works but believing in Jesus
The harvest is ready but the laborers are few
many want to walk the streets shouting turn or burn but they have not build the credibility
others build relationships but never speak truth
WE MUST invest in others and share the truth
Cost of investing...
benefit of investing to share faith...
Here and need boldness and courage to share… come
Need Jesus as your Savior… come
