The endeavor(prayaas) to resist(birodh garnu) the Philistines was of the Lord
God wanted them to have the victory, but in the right way(tarika).
Saul had done wrong in sacrificing(baalidaan garnu)
Saul had done the wrong thing in worrying about swords and weapon(shastraharu)
Saul had done the wrong thing in numbering(ga’nanaa) the people
Now he was hiding “uttermost part of Gibea” (Gibaako chheumaa)
1 Samuel 14:2 KJV 1900
2 And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people that were with him were about six hundred men;
Hiding from the enemy(shatruharu)
Avoiding(tarkaaunu) the enemy was not God’s plan
Not of faith!
We are to confront(saamanaa garnu) evil(kharaab) in HIS power(bal) and might(samartha)
J
Jonathan decided to go and attack(akramaan)
He did not tell his father about this attack
Possibly because he saw his father’s lack of faith
He probably knew he would get no support(sahaaraa)
He didn’t want discouragement(nirutsaahit)
He didn’t want criticism(aalochanaa)
He didn’t want added doubt(shankaa)

He was willing to go alone!

His father was afraid when people started to leave(tyaagnu) him
But Jonathan went out alone in faith
Jonathan did not need a crowd(bhid) of friends
He didn’t need physical support

He tried to get others involved(samaabesh garnu)

He invited his armour bearer(hatiyaar bokne jawaan)
1 Samuel 14:7 KJV 1900
7 And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
1 Samuel 14:6 KJV 1900
6 And Jonathan said to the young man that bare his armour, Come, and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few.

The step of faith began in his heart

1 Samuel
1 Samuel 14:7 KJV 1900
7 And his armourbearer said unto him, Do all that is in thine heart: turn thee; behold, I am with thee according to thy heart.
