It’s Time
Luke 10:2–9 The Message
He gave them this charge: “What a huge harvest! And how few the harvest hands. So on your knees; ask the God of the Harvest to send harvest hands. “On your way! But be careful—this is hazardous work. You’re like lambs in a wolf pack. “Travel light. Comb and toothbrush and no extra luggage. “Don’t loiter and make small talk with everyone you meet along the way. “When you enter a home, greet the family, ‘Peace.’ If your greeting is received, then it’s a good place to stay. But if it’s not received, take it back and get out. Don’t impose yourself. “Stay at one home, taking your meals there, for a worker deserves three square meals. Don’t move from house to house, looking for the best cook in town. “When you enter a town and are received, eat what they set before you, heal anyone who is sick, and tell them, ‘God’s kingdom is right on your doorstep!’
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.

I will be keeping with the theme selected for this evening and that is A Heart for the Harvest.
In order to fully understand what this topic means as well as what the scripture passage we just read really means we have to understand what Jesus was explaining to the 70 individuals here.
The bible tells us clearly in II Timothy that in the last days perilous times would come or should I now say that they are here.

2 Timothy 3King James Version (KJV)

3 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
Now lets look at our country and the world that we live in-it is literally out of control and is bottom up from the government to the pestilence, disease, violence, wars and rumours of wars, fires, and some of the biggest storms and hurricanes in history.
As I sought the Lord about what to tell his people this evening he told me to tell you simply that “It’s Time”.
We all know that time waits for no one and time seems to be passing so rapidly now because if it did not no flesh would be saved.
The bible also talks about time in Ecclesiastes when it says there is a time mourn and a time to dance a time to plant and a time to pluck up. We live out our lives based on time. I have to be at work at a certain time, my children have to be at school at a certain time, it is how we flow through our lives-time.
The Lord began to open up this text for me that I have heard many times-that the harvest is ripe and ready for harvesting. But then it says that the laberous are few but It’s Time.
You see we serve a God that is sovereign-He knows all and sees all. Nothing every catches God by surprise-we get caught but not the Lord.
With the state that our nation is in today that are so many souls that need to hear about the goodness and faithfullness and Love of our God. The heart of many are ready to hear and receive Jesus Christ.
This is why the role of the church is so vital and the reason the enemy seeks to bring confusion into the church to hinder the harvestings.
The world is dying but we are in the four walls fighting over, seats, who didn’t speak to me, titles. Just imaging the impact the Body of Christ would have on the world if we would just organize and work together.
1. Harvest: the process or period of gathering in crops.
Harvest time is a time to reap that has been sown but I have heard this texted preached from the position of Harvest being easy
