I Came Back to Say Thank You
I Came Back to Say Thank You
And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Luke 17:11
Here in our text we have the story of 10 lepers being healed but only one coming back to show is gratitude for what happened. This story starts with Jesus traveling to Jerusalem, while doing so we see that Jesus decides to travel between Samaria and Galilee. So commentators argue that its quite possible that there were several other miracles have taken place, which is what cause Jesus to travel such an usual route. Either way one thing is certain these 10 lepers where on the mind of Christ causing him to travel this way! It’s not told to us how long they had to suffer with condition, but one thing is sure it was long enough. If you trust the Lord he will show up!
He may not come when you want him but he will be there right on time.
Jesus knew their condition and still had mercy on them.
The word only becomes active in our lives when we act on it!
I just came back to say thank you! (And he was a Samaritan.)
