Why do people subscribe to dating websites?.. To meet someone and hopefully find their match. Even identical twins have different personalities, but every personality has its compatibility. God woven each and everyone of us in our mothers' womb. He even knows the count of our hair, and He certainly have good reasons why we were built the way we are. On top of those reasons is for us to love Him with all our hearts. To honor Him with our every word. To love our neighbors and always feel for them. To show compassion at every instance. To always think of His laws and teachings. And not just to be hearers of His Word, but most importantly, to be doers of them.

Our Church’s Vision is anchored from the Great Commission and the Great Commandment

Text: The Greatest Commandment

Mark 12:28–34 NIV
28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?” 29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” 32 “Well said, teacher,” the man replied. “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.” 34 When Jesus saw that he had answered wisely, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And from then on no one dared ask him any more questions.
Mark 12
After the tricky questions comes an honest one.
A teacher asks Jesus about the most important law.
It is a good question, because the Jewish law has become very elaborate.
On one estimate, the Ten Commandments have spawned 613 lesser laws
248 of them positive and 365 negative.
(BREATHE)
The ordinary person needs a clear path through this jungle of legislation.
Jesus says there is one central commandment from which all the others spring:
‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength’ ().
It is used as a daily prayer by every pious Jew.
‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ ().
The Bible Guide The Key Commandment (12:28–34)

Then Jesus adds another commandment, which he says is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’ (Leviticus 19:18). For Jesus, love for God goes hand in hand with love for others.

Now, let us zero in to verse 30, and see what kind of “personalities” (people character), the Lord is talking about
Illustration: Story of Margaret (and her twin sister. Identical twins but different “personality”)
Mark 12:30 NIV
30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’
Heart (kardia)
In , some Pharisees made another attempt to confront Jesus
This time they asked the Lord about traditions, particularly the need to wash hands before eating
Jesus replied, “and why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?”.
The Lord went on with His discourse and said in verse:
Matthew 15:8 NIV
8 “ ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
Matthew 15:10 NIV
10 Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand.
Matthew 15:11 NIV
11 What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
Matthew 15:18 NIV
18 But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.
Here you’ll see the connection between the heart and the mouth
(BREATHE)
God wants us to love Him with all our mouth, in other words, with all our “talk”
Some people are born “talker”
We need communicators such as teachers, pastors, counselors
The Bible said, faith comes from hearing the word of God, but how can they hear if not one will talk to them?
We need “Talkers”
Heart people loves to talk, they tell stories
(BREATHE)
But, our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness
Pure talk without act is bad
Proverbs 14:23 NIV
23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.
Sometimes too much talking ends up to gossiping
Ephesians 4:29 NIV
29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Turn to your neighbor and ask, Are you a “Talker”
(BREATHE)
Soul (psyc-hē)
According to Lexham Theological Wordbook:
The soul is the life-force of the person and often refers to the whole being.
It needs to be sustained in order for life to thrive,
and it is the seat of desires, emotions, and will.
The soul can be in intimate relationship with God or be under God’s judgment.

In other words, soul represents our emotions, our feelings
We need people who feels for people
We need “feelers”
People who are compassionate
Ephesians 4:32 NIV
32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
(BREATHE)
But again, our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness
Very emotional people may tend to become very sensitive sometimes
They are easily offended
Are you a “Feeler”
Mind (dianoia)
The Baker Encyclopedia of the Bible defines mind as the:
Man’s intellectual processes in a narrow sense
or, more broadly, the sum total of a man’s mental and moral state of being.
Mind. Man’s intellectual processes in a narrow sense or, more broadly, the sum total of a man’s mental and moral state of being.
In other words, a “Thinker”
Elwell, W.A. & Beitzel, B.J., 1988. Mind. Baker encyclopedia of the Bible, 2, p.1461.
The world needs “Thinkers”, problem solvers, scientist, physicist, engineers
The
Someone should be thinking of complex issues that needs resolution
Psalm 119:97 CEV
97 I deeply love your Law! I think about it all day.

(BREATHE)
But again, our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness
People who thinks so much are sometimes paralyzed
They keep on thinking, thinking and thinking.. and ended up, not doing

Very intelligent people tends to become very prideful,
They may become very egotistical, in other words, excessively conceited or self-centered.
Are you a Thinker?
(BREATHE)
Strength (ischys)
According to Lexham Theological Wordbook:
Strength is the inner resolve or the physical ability to accomplish an endeavor, influence an outcome, or prevail in a conflict. God is the main source of strength, with people being strong either for or against the Lord, his people, or his ways. Other spiritual forces, animals, and objects are also attributed with strength.

In other words, a “Doer”
(BREATHE)
The church needs “Doers”
People who do not just think, talk and feel
But people who makes things happen
James 1:22 ESV
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
(BREATHE)
But again, our greatest strength is also our greatest weakness
People who are always “doing” have the tendency to become addicted to the things that they do
Sometime they become “workaholic”
They’re addicted to the approval of other people
They’re addicted to money, praise, status, sex
They’re addicted to making name for themselves
They’re addicted to money, praise, status, sex
Psalm 127:2 The Living Bible
2 It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.
Are you a Doer?

Prayer

God, You’re a good good Father
I've heard a thousand stories of what they think you're like
But I've heard the tender whispers of love in the dead of night
And you tell me that you're pleased
And that I'm never alone
You're a good good father
It's who you are Lord
And I'm loved by you
It's who I am
I've seen many searching for answers far and wide
But I know we're all searching For answers only you provide
For answers only you provide
'Cause you know just what we need Before we say a word
Before we say a word
You're a good good Father
Because you are perfect in all of your ways
You are perfect in all of your ways You are perfect in all of your ways You are perfect in all of your ways to us Oh, it's love so undeniable I, I can hardly speak Peace so unexplainable I, I can hardly think As you call me deeper still As you call me deeper still As you call me deeper still Into love, love, love You're a good good father It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are And I'm loved by you It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am You're a good good father It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are And I'm loved by you It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am You're a good good father It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are And I'm loved by you It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am You're a good good father You are perfect in all of your ways It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are And I'm loved by you You are perfect in all of your ways It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
