Summary:

R — God can protect and bring justice to the righteous, despite the evil words of wicked men.

M —

A- The world is full of evil and the godly are gone

B- Even though people lie to you, God never will

C- God always punishes the wicked and protects the poor and needy

Observation --

The structure is a chiastic, A B C C B A, and it seems to us that the two “B” sections, if it was organized strictly by topic, would be switched around.

The state of mankind; godly gone, faithful vanished, lies to neighbor, flattering lips, double speak, they prowl, vileness is exalted.

What is God like? a Judge of all, a helper of the poor and needy, a provider of safety for those who need it, a speaker of very pure words, and eternal guardian and keeper

Question...

1. Does verse 7 speak to the distance of time or the person being protected from? This is speaking as if the generation is the thing that people need protection from.

Application

When others are hurting you with their tongue, the believer has the promise that God will by your defender and a judge.

God will not allow the wicked to always prosper, but will judge.

God will NEVER speak to you with with anything but very pure words, words with no error.

EMOTIONAL...

“The the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the ruler yet.”
