The Call of the Disciples
Our God is a God on mission.
The Father sent the Son.
The Father and the Son send the Spirit.
The Son sends his followers (NKJV) So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
His Mission is to redeem and restore a people for Himself. (NKJV) for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Jesus first called the twelve to Himself
(NKJV)
You cannot give what you do not possess. Jesus called the disciples to himself to transform them.
10 for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Jesus then called the twelve to Service.
It was service of the Lord’s mission by serving others. (NKJV) “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
(NKJV)
Jesus calls His followers to service in His mission.

He changes our priorities.

They were to take nothing with them.
Their message was to the lost.
Their ministry was to the needy.
