The Secret Place is An intimate Place
The most important part of a believer’s life is the part that only God sees, the “hidden life” of communion and worship that is symbolized by the Holy of Holies in the Jewish sanctuary
T
The safest place in the world is a shadow, if it is the shadow of the Almighty. Through Jesus Christ we find safety and satisfaction under the wings of the cherubim in the Holy of Holies
The names of God used in these verses encourage us to trust Him. He is the Most High (Elyon; vv. 1, 9), a name found first in . He is higher than the kings of the earth and the false gods of the nations. He is also the Almighty (Shaddai), the all-sufficient God who is adequate for every situation.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Ps 91:

He is God:He is God (Elohim, v. 2), the powerful God whose greatness and glory surpass anything we can imagine. This is the God who invites us to fellowship with Him in the Holy of Holies! This hidden life of worship and communion makes possible the public life of obedience and service.
There are hidden dangers as well as open obvious dangers
A fowler trapped birds. Here the metaphor represents any plots against the believer intended to endanger his life.
Shall Abide: His Care For us is Settled
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
To the lord:He is LORD (vv. 2, 9, 14), Jehovah, the covenant-making God who is faithful to His promises.

He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge.
His truth is your shield and armor.
His Truth is your shield and armor: His care is Strong
Verses 5-6
His Care is Steady ... is Constant: Night, Day, Darkness, Noonday
His Care Sufficient is all embracing: Fear, terror, pestilence, destruction
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Pestilence: disease
Destruction : Armies
The Definable and the Undefinable
His special care Specific is particular
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
Verses 9-13 He said it all once then He says it again .
We need to hear multiple times
Need reassurance
need to be told one way then tell the same thing another way
then tell it again
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
Because You have made Him your “Dwelling Place” same as Secret
His Care is Special ...Perfect Complete whole

no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
I will Deliver
I will Protect
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
I will Answer Him
