The Marks of Mature Believers (Part 2)
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel.
For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.
And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment,
so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ,
filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

1. The Mark of Confidence and Assurance (verse 6)

2. The Mark of Christian Partnership (verses 7-8)
They were partners in heart
They were partners in the sufferings of Paul
They were sympathizing with Paul in his imprisonment
They were sending hope to Paul while he was in prison
They themselves had suffered or were currently suffering because of the gospel, just as Paul was

We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
3. The Mark of Mature Love (verses 9-10)
