I Keep Hearing Him Calling My Name

John 11:38–44 GW
Deeply moved again, Jesus went to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone covering the entrance. Jesus said, “Take the stone away.” Martha, the dead man’s sister, told Jesus, “Lord, there must already be a stench. He’s been dead for four days.” Jesus said to her, “Didn’t I tell you that if you believe, you would see God’s glory?” So the stone was moved away from the entrance of the tomb. Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you for hearing me. I’ve known that you always hear me. However, I’ve said this so that the crowd standing around me will believe that you sent me.” After Jesus had said this, he shouted as loudly as he could, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out. Strips of cloth were wound around his feet and hands, and his face was wrapped with a handkerchief. Jesus told them, “Free Lazarus, and let him go.”
John

Take Away The Stone

Before Jesus could do anything for Laz, he needed to deal with the stone..( Can We Deal With Your Stone?) We just talking…
1 peter 2.6
first question: what would be the first thing God would need to remove out your way so you could hear him calling you?
Most of the time people prefer to stay in the cave to avoid you smelling their stench, but even though Lazarus has been dead for 4 days there is no indication of him coming out with marks of decay. (Tell your neighbor, you don’t look like what you been thru)
Whats your Rock?
Jesus didn’t care about the smell, he was more concerned about God’s glory....

3 For I am the LORD, your God,

the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.

I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom;

I gave Ethiopia* and Seba in your place.

4 Others were given in exchange for you.

I traded their lives for yours

because you are precious to me.

You are honored, and I love you.

Second Question: Are you easily offended?
There is no such thing as hotel hurt, club hurt or work hurt..
People that attend gyms and are in shape are not offended by folks who are out of shape.
1 Peter 2:6–10 NLT
As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.”
1 Peter 2:
1 Peter 2:6–10 The Message
The Scriptures provide precedent: Look! I’m setting a stone in Zion, a cornerstone in the place of honor. Whoever trusts in this stone as a foundation will never have cause to regret it. To you who trust him, he’s a Stone to be proud of, but to those who refuse to trust him, The stone the workmen threw out is now the chief foundation stone. For the untrusting it’s … a stone to trip over, a boulder blocking the way. They trip and fall because they refuse to obey, just as predicted. But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.
Romans 9:31 NLT
But the people of Israel, who tried so hard to get right with God by keeping the law, never succeeded.
Romans 9:31–33 GW
The people of Israel tried to gain God’s approval by obeying Moses’ Teachings, but they did not reach their goal. Why? They didn’t rely on faith to gain God’s approval, but they relied on their own efforts. They stumbled over the rock that trips people. As Scripture says, “I am placing a rock in Zion that people trip over, a large rock that people find offensive. Whoever believes in him will not be ashamed.”
Jesus called folks dogs, spit in their eyes, rubbed mud in their eyes, refused to let some follow him. And they where never offended…But they where thirsty for what God had for them...
“I am placing a stone in Jerusalem* that makes people stumble,
I know some thirsty sista’s that will tolerate being cheated on, beat on & called out their name all for the sake of love.. (thats offensive)
a rock that makes them fall.
But anyone who trusts in him
I know some thirsty brothers who will rob their own momma, sister, auntie or child to get another hit.. and we pretend ain’t nonething wrong and keep letting Peanut in the house.. (Thats offensive)
You might not like what i am saying but i am just trying to pull somebody out the cave.
will never be disgraced.”*
Jesus Always uses other people to get you out of the cave....

2. I am Saying this For the Crowd
GOD’S WORD Translation Jesus Brings Lazarus Back to Life

Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you for hearing me. 42 I’ve known that you always hear me. However, I’ve said this so that the crowd standing around me will believe that you sent me.”

As a believer some things you have to do for the crowd. (we need to be believable)
Most folks that don’t care for Church or for Gods People and For God himself is because of Church People..
Your fake marriage is unbelievable
Your false humility is unbelievable
Your holier than thou posture is unbelievable..
Look at your neighbor and tell them take the phony off show me the real you.. the one that gets mad at their kids and curse word slips out,
real you that still got their baby daddy on booty call speed dial..
THE real you that still got their baby daddy on booty call speed dial..
The REAL You..that takes Gods tithes and plays lotto and swears when you win you going to bless the church…
3. Lazarus, Come Out!
3. Lazarus, Come Out!
Jesus called him by name, but wait Lazarus was a common name back then..So how could we be sure the wright Lazarus came out...
This is the reason why we have to be careful when God calls someone with a bad reputation out, and you are aware of their past but you refuse to give them a new beginning.. God don’t need your permission to save, to heal, to restore and yes to bless…
Could you imagine how many dead bodies Laz, had to step over to get to Jesus.
What if he had tried to wake one of them up to bring with him..
Tell your neighbor that has a hair appointment on Monday they can’t miss. Your deliverance is personal
Jesus called him by name, and called him out of death & the grave, Jesus called him out of (trespasses) & (debt) Jesus called him out of dead relationships
4. The Dead Man Came Out!!
4. The Dead Man Came Out!!
John 11:44 GW
The dead man came out. Strips of cloth were wound around his feet and hands, and his face was wrapped with a handkerchief. Jesus told them, “Free Lazarus, and let him go.”
I pray that every dead man & women come out!!!
in church dead,
great job & dead,
wonderful family but dead
just a social drinker but dead....
Know God kinda sorta but refuse to let go of that old wine skin… tap your neighbor dead...
His hands & feet bound
face covered
in grave clothes
Jesus told them… (Thats a command)
loose lazarus, free him from the grave cloths..
God has served you with your release papers, you are no longer bound to dead stuff..
I need someone to shout out i have been released..
