39 And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.”

· We assume a lack of interest.

· We think we will start an argument.

· We say we don’t have an evangelistic gift.

Sound familiar? Can anyone give me BCV to justify these emotions?

2. Why this will never happen

Luke 19:40 ESV

40 He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

By quoting Jesus affirms the people’s acknowledgment that their King has come. Jesus Christ is the Messiah.

Luke 19:38 ESV

38 saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

He is not just our gift! He is the gift of the world! He last and greatest commandment to His people was …

Mark 16:15–16 ESV

15 And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

We cannot pick and choose the commandments we want to obey. It is your duty and privilege to obey.

This command is the duty and privilege of every man and woman who confesses Christ as Lord. We cannot pick and choose which commands of our Lord we will follow.

3. The Results of Speaking

Luke 19:41–42 ESV

41 And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

When we speak up people are saved

John 14:6 ESV

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Acts 4:12 ESV

12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

I met someone who was very angry with me because of these two verses. She almost lost it as she scolded me. I BELIEVE JESUS IS ONLY ONE OF MANY WAYS TO HEAVEN. I RESENT YOU FOR SAYING OTHERWISE. I APOLOGIZED FOR OFFENDING BUT TOLD HER THESE WERE JESUS WORDS. WHAT DID SHE THINK ABOUT JESUS. She had only praise for Jesus telling me that he was the greatest man who had ever lived. Would he lie about himself? After a couple of months and several studies this young lady became a Christian.

When we speak up we discover searching souls

Every day I go to my WBS Student Board. You know why? Because I assume there are people interested in studying the bible.

When we speak up we discover the incalculable value of salvation

People are really more interested in eternal life than polities, sports, or MPG of my Volt. Talk about the latest office gossip you must. But you would do better to turn every conversation towards heaven.
