Breaking Apostasy Strongholds

Mt. 24:8-13

I.          Introduction:

           

            What is Apostasy?

            Gr. he apostasi: a standing away from.  A falling away, withdrawal,

 a  defection. Acts 21:21; 2Tes. 2:2-3.

            What is a stronghold?

Is an organized confederation of demonic powers, working in unity to  dominate areas of life to choke out the life of God in individuals and people groups. 

The most loyal level of submission of demon power to a prince of darkness in order to control, manipulate and intimidate to dominate.

II.        Presentation:

            There are at least 10 specific areas of life where we can see into the spirit world and discern the spirit of Apostasy. (Principle, Rom. 1: 18-20)

           

            1.         Appearance of antichrists

            2.         Betrayals and offences

            3.         False christs

            4.         False ministers

            5.         False signs and miracles

            6.         Economic hardships

            7.         Increase of evil ( violence, sexual immorality, injustice, abuse, dishonesty)

            8.         Emotional distress (Anger, depression, hatred, anxiety)

            9.         Persecutions

            10.       Decrease of godliness (cold love, carnality, prayerlessness, ignorance of the Bible, spite for the lost, being offended at God)

III.       Causes:  What can causes us to apostatize?

            Persecution: Mt. 24:9,10

            False ministers: Mt. 24:11; Gal:3:1

            Temptation: Lk. 8:13

            worldliness: 2 Tim. 4:3,4

            Defective knowledge of Christ: 1 Jo. 2:19

            Moral lapse: Heb. 6:4-6

            Forsaking Worship and spiritual living Heb.10:25-31.

            Unbelief: Heb. 3:12
