Life in the Spirit: Sermon Recap Jesus Baptizes with the Holy Spirit: So that we may be effective in furthering the Kingdom and are filled with love and power from God to do so. Greater Works: Jesus says to us in John 14:12 that we can do the same works he has done, and even greater works, if we believe in him. The way that we do the work Jesus calls us to is through the Holy Spirit’s presence and power in us. The Tension: There is often a gap between what we read about in Scripture and our daily Christian experience. The Holy Spirit inside of us seeks to reduce that gap so that we truly live like Jesus in this world. The Fullness of the Holy Spirit: We need the fullness or baptism of the Holy Spirit in our lives so that we can receive greater power and love from God to do his work and live for him. There is a difference between the us receiving the Holy Spirit at conversion and us being filled or baptized with the Holy Spirit. Pursuing God: We must pursue God and seek the filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives so that we can experience more of God and walk in deeper relationship with him.
