Lk 16:19-31. Tony van Drimmelen. Our faith has an affect on the way we use our wealth.  Whatever we hold on to most dearly will determine how we manage money and possessions.  As a test of faith, we say “walk the talk and put your money where your mouth is.” In not so subtle words, Jesus does something similar to those listening in the crowd.  He confronts the abuse of money.  He tells a story of two men whose lives couldn't be more different, yet both are men of faith.  One is poor, the other rich.  He warns that, after death, a dramatic reversal takes place.  The rich man is relegated to the terrors of hell.  Why?  Jesus considers their faith in this life and warns that a love for riches is sure to rob us of our love for God and neighbour.  He aims to shock us into the realisation that a spirit of generosity is integral to our faith.
