This is a revelation of Jesus Christ, from God the father, through an angel, to John the Apostle

And so what this letter consists of is John testifying, bearing witness, to what he was told and to what he saw.

We are called blessed by reading it.

But not just reading it, but hearing it, thinking through it, and keeping what is written in it.
