There are some who do not like the prosperity message because they say its about Giving to get. I just finished reading a book titled “The Generosity Bet: Secrets of Risk, Reward, and Real Joy”

Book by Ashley B. McCauley and William F. High
A couple of testimonies in that book made a statement that they don’t agree with the prosperity gospel “Your give and you get” but they all acknowledge that they have recieved financial blessings from giving. Himmmm, seems pretty clear to me.
Another thing a person may say is that I dont put money in the offering plate and expect anything in return, that would be rude to God.
Lets look at one of the verses that is can be used here ,
Luke 6:35 NKJV
But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
lk 6
This verse is talking about being good to your enemies and God is not your enemy. and so lets look at the next part.
Your reward will be great! so God will reward you for being good to your enemies, How much more will he reward you when you give into his kingdom building purposes.
then lets look at the next part because it gets even better.
And you will be sons of the most high. Where have we heard this similar thing.
Romans 8:14 NKJV
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
This helps you to understand if your operating in the flesh or the spirit. Are you a son of God? Are you being led by the spirit?
In the testament of our forefathers, the old testament, it was part of the Torah to pay the tithe and give offerings. But now we live by the leading of the Holy Spirit through the grace and truth of the messiah Yeshua and we learn that He still wants us to give when we listen to him and he rewards us. But why does want us to give? To be more like him.
God is generous and rewards the generous.
Lets read on and then we will finish up at verse 38.
Luke 6:36–38 NKJV
Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful. “Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
luke 6
So, you want to hear from God? Now is the time to learn to listen to the Holy Spirit. Ask him now. Holy Spirit what dollar amount do you want me to give? and then respond. I may be a number that you dont want to give or believe that that number is from God. But trust him and step out in faith.
