Introduction
Introduction
There is a huge shift between the OT and NT
We discover an entirely different atmosphere/Different world than the OT
Rome is now the dominant power
Center of power has shifted from East to the West
Now there is a King on the Throne…dependent of Esau…Harod
The priest are no longer from the line of Aaron but hired priest (becomes political)
So a lot has changed.....what happened?
At the close of Malicah we have what is called the Intertestament Period or 400 years of silence
Between the the Ot and Nt writings is 400 years where we do not have anything documented
Last of the inspired prophets
Paul says in Galatians 4:4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.
In biblical history we have the Dead Sea scrolls that gave us so much of our written History for the christian faith
4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. e
Though there was 400 years of silence, there was always a goal that God had in mind
There are some amazing things to understand in history between the Testaments
Babylon was the major kingdom in Power
Then the Persians came into power
Nehemiah and Ezra come on the seen
The last prophet Malachi speaks and then nothing.
Four hundred years of silence would occur
there
Noah - When God Shuts the Door
Noah - When God Shuts the Door
Two by two they came into the boat, representing every living thing that breathes. 16 A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them.
9 These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.

so much of our written History for the christian faith
Towards the end of the OT somthing happens
Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
We have the Exile, Babylonian rule then the Persians
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.
Nehemiah and Ezra come into the picture
The New American Commentary: Genesis 1–11:26 1. Righteous Noah (6:9–10)
Noah is described by three phrases: “a righteous man,” “blameless,” and “walked with God.” Each has its emphasis, but they collectively tell the same story about Noah’s life. He stands out from his contemporaries as a man of right conduct who enjoys a right relationship with God during a day of unrestrained evil
Then the last prophet to speak Malichi
Then nothing, 400 years of silence
