1. Directed by Jesus (1-3)

Donkey — it was an honor to ride an animal that was never ridden because it was saved just for Jesus.
They needed the mother and the colt because the colt would be easier to direct.
2. Pre-Directed by the Father (4-5)
Not a conquering king riding on a horse with a flaming sword, but a humble king without a weapon or an army.

2. Acknowledged by the Crowds (9-11)
Matthew 21:
Hosanna — Save Us! — not spiritual salvation but political.
They knew who Jesus was.
But, they wanted a Messiah of their own desires.
Instead of conquering Rome, Jesus cleaned out their temple.
There problem wasn’t their relationship with Rome it was their relationship to God.
By the end of the week they wanted Him dead.
