The Message Chapter 6

For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate. Can’t you see the central issue in all this? It is not what you and I do—submit to circumcision, reject circumcision. It is what God is doing, and he is creating something totally new, a free life! All who walk by this standard are the true Israel of God—his chosen people. Peace and mercy on them!

The Message Chapter 5

Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.

Many of you this is the first time hearing me speak, for some maybe not so much. Are you excited tonight?

What do you need? many of you have needs… For some its a good meal, maybe some McDonalds, maybe Pizza Pizza, or maybe you’re sophisticated and have need for sushi! Or maybe you need a drink of cold water, Or maybe feeling the effects of the changing weather and you’re in need of a warmer jacket. Or maybe it’s been a loong week and you just need a nap! Now most of you can safely say that most of these needs get met on a daily basis.

Many of you probably came from home, or a friends house to get here, and chances are that’s where you’re going after tonight. Hopefully it’s a safe place for you.

These are what you call your basic needs. Here in Canada most of our basic needs are met.

But there are other needs that you may not know that you have but believe you do. No I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Pastor Ouen is helping look after this next need. He’s cultivating an atmosphere of friendship, belonging. Or maybe your have friends or a parent that real loves you. We all need to be loved.

But there’s more, and here’s where things get interesting. Who are you? what are you?

Are you what your last IG posts says you are? or the comment on the last selfie? I believe that each one of you has been designed for a purpose and a divine plan.
