A covenantal relationship

OT Background:
The nature of the union of Jesus Christ with believers is explained using a number of central images. The New Testament stresses the reality, closeness and considerable benefits of this union.
In the New Testament:

A relationship deepened through the incarnation

John 1:14 ESV
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

A relationship personally entered through faith

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
