A Perfect Prayer (Part 3)
Introduction
1. The manifestation of God’s name to God’s elect.
To make known the Father’s name was to reveal Him, manifest His character, display His perfections. As we are told at the beginning of this Gospel, “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” The Son alone was competent for this. Christ had manifested the Father’s perfections in His perfect life, wondrous miracles and sublime teaching. But only those who had been given Him by the Father were able to receive this manifestation.

The disciples believed that Jesus worked by the power of God and did everything according to His Father’s will. This was in contrast to the Jewish religious leaders, who accused Jesus of operating through the power of Satan
