Deity of Jesus
DEITY OF JESUS
John 1
Introduction: The apostle John was probably Jesus’ closest friend on the earth. Because of that friendship and the great change Jesus caused in John’s life, John’s gospel tells us more about the person of Jesus than the others. This lesson will focus on Jesus’ deity as John presents it in chapter 1.

2. Son of God
The title “Son of God”goes beyond the idea of obedience and messianic King to that of Jesus’essential nature. In the Fourth Gospel this title is not applied to believers. They are called “children”(tekna; John 1:12) while “Son”(hyios) is used only of Jesus. Bible knowledge commentary
Conclusion: The emphasis of the gospels is obviously Jesus. Because John is different from the other three (synoptic), we can expect him to emphasize some different things concerning Jesus. I am going to be preaching from John several times between now and November. Our focus will be on Jesus, who is our Master and God.
