We’re About to Build it!
Intro:
- Welcome/ Introduce self /Exhort
- To ever really understand the purpose of Christ we must yield to and understand our need of him
This weekend we will go on this journey of diving deeper into the things of God.
Many of you will be commissioned with purpose and destiny, others of you will gain clarity of your calling or what your supposed to be doing, and stepping into the anointing that God has graced on your life.
To the point where your testimony will be that of the Prophet Isaiah and Jesus Christ when he said in () 18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed.
From this place as we dive deeper into the word of God, our lives will be marked forever.
Whenever I start talking like this somebody asked me one day.
“Yoni How can you be so sure of what your saying”
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed
Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor.
Well Im telling you right now “That the atmosphere of expectancy is the breeding ground for miracles” , and as you begin to encourage yourself in the Lord as David did, and declare the word over your life.
It is a guarantee that faith will begin to Rise in your spirit and In this place, For it is the word that declares that it is “Faith that comes by hearing, and hearing of the word of God!
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovery of sight to the blind,
* (Praise break)

To set free those who are oppressed
,
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6 “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.
7 “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
25 “And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.
26 “Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
27 “The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.”
28 aWhen Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were amazed at His teaching;
29 for He was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes.

Body:
If you would like to add a subtitle to this message it would be “Starting from the bottom” or “Build on the Rock”.
As we begin to look at the 2nd of our 2 main text.
We run into Jesus in the book of Matthew coming to a conclusion of the infamous Sermon on the Mount .
By show of hands how many of y'all are familiar with the Sermon on the Mount?
The sermon on the mount is known as the longest sermon of Jesus preached that was written.
It is held in the early stages of Jesus’s ministry, if we look in the Gospel of Matthew.
It was just in the 3rd chapter that that we see him being baptised by his cousin John the Baptist and being confirmed by God the Father by the Holy spirit descending on him in the form a dove, and a loud voice coming out Heaven saying “This is my son in whom I am well pleased” It was no doubt that this man was the inherit son of God who John the Baptist said “Behold the lamb of God, who came to save the sins of the world” It was just in chapter 4 that we see him being tempted by the enemy during his fast.
It was in the same chapter that we see him gather his disciples, and begin to proclaim the Gospel of the Kingdom and perform: Miracles, and Healing, and his Fame began to spread through out Syria.
May I parenthetically insert here That when you have been confirmed by God and marked by his Spirit.
It is an inevitable fact that the metron of your influence will begin to expand, the crowds around you will get Larger.
Let me give this to you in 21st century millennial terms: Every one of your social media accounts are about to gain more followers.
LOL
Yeah lets get back to the text.
So now we are here in chapter 5. We see a large amount of people following Jesus trying to get there miracle and Jesus walks up this mountain, and begins to Teach his disciples the principles of the Kingdom.
He begins to talk in this manner and Authority that no one had heard in 100’s of years.
You know because the people of Isreal had been without a prophetic voice for over 400 years.
May I also parenthetically insert here that the absence of a prophetic voice in your life will cause you to go dry.
You see because in this 400 year time span they still had Pharisees and sadducees, and scribes that so eloquently communicated the Law of Moses and the first 5 books of the bible, yet had no ability to demonstrate the Word in power.
So Jesus starts to layout the Kingdom by talking about stuff like:
The Beatitudes
Being Salt and Light
Anger
Lust
Divorce
Loving your Enemies
Giving to the Needy
How To Pray
Fasting
Not Worrying .==0
Judging Others
And so many other things.
And he comes to the end of this Sermon, and what seems to me to be Solidifying everything that he said prior to this moment He shares this parable of building your House which can also be understood as Your life.
On The Rock which can also be understood as His word, and not in the sand in which for this sermon will represent as Religion or Convenience.
He says in verse 24: Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.
In verse 26 he says: Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
Jesus is calling for his audience to decide between himself and the religious establishment, drawing a dividing line between himself and any other foundation for life.
The evidence of whether someone is truly a believer is whether one Does what the word says
22 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;
24 for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.
In our text we see Jesus describe 2 different types of people, and He definitely suggests that you do one over the other.
Because as the text so graciously lets us know, that no matter which one of the 2 sides you lie on its inevitable that there will be a storm to hit your house, and where you build your house will determine if it stands or if it falls.
Because as the text
* The sand is known as a place of Comfortability, a place of Connivence , a place of familiarity, a place of Common, a place of Certainty, a place of the religious norm, a place of mediocrity.
In all honesty the sand is probably the easiest place to build your house because its the place “where you do what your supposed to do” Where you go to school everyday, where you graduate then you get your diploma, then your family sends you off to college, and you get straight A’s, and you get your degree with a 4.0, and you start off at a job that pays you what lets say 80k+ per year, then you wait a few years and Find the love of your life and get married and y'all travel all over the world for the next couple of years.
Then you get your first house and shortly after God blesses y'all with a child.
So from this point you live happily ever after where yall go to church every Sunday and Wednesday, and you pay your tithe, and you serve your community, and go out to do missions, and invest into your 401k Then you retire and live on a beach, till God calls you home.
This is the life that building on sand promises you, and I hope you hear me Im not saying that these things are bad actually I would say to pursue these because they are great Goals for you have in Life.
But this is what starts to happen these things that were once goals turn into Gods, and the main thing no longer becomes the main thing.
Because you have built your life on these concepts and ideas that were not meant to sustain you.
Im tellin you that is faulty ground and was not meant to identify you.
What if a storm was to hit your life, Lets say your job that you put your security in goes bankrupt and they have to lay everybody off, maybe someone you really love unexpectedly passes away, Friends will walk away from you.
People will talk about you! WHAT WILL YOU DO WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO YOU, because if you build your life on the sand you have to not built on Substance You built on Sand.
Now I dont mean to be the bearer of bad news, lol trust me cuz just give me a little bit here to work this thing and I promise we’ll be shouting towards the end of this time.
Because Jesus said it like This in : Jesus is sooo funny to me because he uses here what we call the sandwich method where he starts you off felling good, then he makes a very generic statement that stings like a bee, but after that makes you feel all geewy again, but to me adds a condition to it.
Verse 33 Reads like this: “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
