2 But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, Though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; Whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Introduction

Last week was “The King is Here,” and that He still heals, still delivers, and still performs miracles.
This week, “That’s My King.” Some of this is from Dr. S.M. Lockridge. Dr. Lockridge was a Baptist pastor in Texas and then California. He pastored from 1942-1993, and passed away in 2000.

About My King

My King rules eternally…there is no beginning and no end to His reign. But more importantly, My King is full of mercy and grace, full of power and glory, full of peace and joy, and comes with healing for your soul and eternal life for your spirit.
God is full of mercy and grace
Adam and Eve

Isaiah’s vision and call in chapter 6
Isaiah 6:1–7 KJV 1900
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: The whole earth is full of his glory. 4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. 6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: 7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
Isaiah 6:1-
God is full of peace, joy, healing, and eternal life
Galatians 5:22–24 NRSV
By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Galatians 5:22–23 KJV 1900
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
1 Timothy 2:4 KJV 1900
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
2 Peter 3:9 KJV 1900
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Romans 10:9 KJV 1900
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
We can try to describe Jesus. We can try to put into words the work and power of the Holy Ghost. We can try to explain the limitless, timelessness, all-powerful nature of God. But our words always seem to come short. Dr. Lockridge, that I mentioned earlier, come as close as anyone, in a sermon many years ago. Some of you may have heard parts of it, and I have taken parts to tell you this morning.

From Dr. Lockridge:

He’s the King of Righteousness
He’s the King of the ages
He’s the King of Heaven
He’s the King of Glory
He’s the King of kings, and the Lord of Lords
Now, that’s my King!
Psalm 19:1 KJV 1900
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork.
My King is the only one whom there’s no means of measure that can define His limitless love.
He’s enduringly strong
He’s entirely sincere
He’s eternally steadfast
He’s immortally graceful
He’s imperially powerful
He’s impartially merciful
That’s my King
He’s God’s Son
He’s the sinner’s Savior
He’s the centerpiece of civilization
He stands alone in Himself
He’s the miracle of the age
He’s the superlative of everything good that you choose to call Him
He’s the only One able to supply all of our needs simultaneously
He supplies strength for the weak
He’s available for the tempted and the tried
He sympathizes and He saves
He guards and He guides
He heals the sick
He cleansed the lepers
He forgives sinners
He discharges debtors
He delivers the captives
He defends the feeble
He blesses the young
He serves the unfortunate
He regards the aged
He rewards the diligent
Do you know Him?
My King is the Key of knowledge
He’s the Wellspring of wisdom
He’s the Doorway of deliverance
He’s the Pathway of peace
He’s the Roadway of righteousness
He’s the Highway of holiness
He’s the Gateway of glory
He’s the Master of the mighty
He’s the Captain of the conquerors
He’s the Head of the heroes
He’s the leader of the legislators
He’s the Overseer of the overcomers
He’s the Governor of the governors
He’s the Prince of princes
He’s the King of kings, and He’s the Lord of lords.
That’s My King!
His promise is sure
His light is matchless
His goodness is limitless
His mercy is everlasting
His love never changes
His Word is enough
His grace is sufficient
His reign is righteous
His yoke is easy, and His burden is light
He’s indescribable
He’s incomprehensible
He’s invincible
He’s irresistible
The heavens of heavens cannot contain Him, let alone a man explain Him
You can’t get Him out of your minds
You can’t get Him off of your hands
You can’t outlive Him
And you can’t live without Him
The Pharisees couldn’t stand Him,
but they found out they couldn’t stop Him
Pilot couldn’t find any fault in Him
The witnesses couldn’t get their testimonies to agree
Herod couldn’t kill Him
Death couldn’t handle Him
and the grave couldn’t hold Him
He always has been
and He always will be
He had no predecessor
and He’ll have no successor
There was nobody before Him
and there will be nobody after Him
You can’t impeach Him
and He’s not gonna resign
