Complete Commitment To The Lord

David had Complete Faith in the Lord

2 Samuel 15:25–26 CSB
Then the king instructed Zadok, “Return the ark of God to the city. If I find favor with the Lord, he will bring me back and allow me to see both it and its dwelling place. However, if he should say, ‘I do not delight in you,’ then here I am—he can do with me whatever pleases him.”
Definition:
Faith - complete confidence in someone or something
David’s confidence in the Lord was unconditional
What Happens When People have unconditional confidence in a Supreme and unending God?
The Hall of Faith
Hebrews 11:1-4; Hebrews 11:32-34

David had Complete Trust in the Lord

2 Samuel 16:12 CSB
Perhaps the Lord will see my affliction and restore goodness to me instead of Shimei’s curses today.”
Definition:
Trust - 1a : assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something b : one in which confidence is placed
2a : dependence on something future or contingent : hope
Real trust is tested, not when you experience good times, easy times. Real Trust is tested and proven when you experience your toughest times.
It is easy to Trust the Lord in the great times, when the blessings seem to be flowing, but will you trust the Lord in the Tough times?
Jeremiah was throne into a dried and muddy cistern, Daniel was thrown in a Lions Den, Elijah was an outcast and fed by birds.

David Knew Not to Trust in Self

Psalm 55:22 CSB
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never allow the righteous to be shaken.
We are not to have self reliance but to have faith and trust in the Lord for everything
Jeremiah 17:7–8 CSB
The person who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence indeed is the Lord, is blessed. He will be like a tree planted by water: it sends its roots out toward a stream, it doesn’t fear when heat comes, and its foliage remains green. It will not worry in a year of drought or cease producing fruit.
2 Corinthians 3:5 CSB
It is not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God.
Our Sustenance comes from the Lord.
Look to the Lord for your encouragement, your needs. He will never let you down.
God Knows all that will happen.
As a child of God, our steps are planned by Him for His end goal and purposes. Not our Own
Song: I cast all my cares upon You I lay all of my burdens down at Your feet And any time I don't know what to do I will cast all my cares upon You
Where is our commitment? Are we committed and relying on God?
Is there anything left of our own self reliance? God has given us gifts and talents, but are we trusting in our own ability?
Those who are used in the kingdom of God aren’t those with the greatest ability but they are those with the greatest availability
Are you available to God? Are you committed to God?
Do You put your faith and trust in God or do you trust something or someone else?
