Introduction

The author of this book, the Apostle Paul is writing to the believers in the city of Colosse.
Interesting to note: the name “Colosse” means “monstrosity”.

■ noun (plural monstrosities)

1 something very large and unsightly.

▶ a grossly malformed animal or plant.

2 something which is outrageously evil or wrong.

Colossians 4:1–5 NLT
1 Masters, be just and fair to your slaves. Remember that you also have a Master—in heaven. 2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should. 5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity.
A note about slaves...
noun (plural opportunities) a favourable time or set of circumstances for doing something. Concise Oxford English Dictionary
Opportunity: the ability to advance God’s Kingdom by your circumstances, responses, and resources.
Romans 8:28 NLT
28 And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
