In case we’ve missed the Teacher’s claim that all of life is futile, these verses paint picture after picture of things that man tries to pursue, that fail him in ways big and small. When we continue in our ways, we are rightly labeled “a fool.” Only when we finally give up and see God for who He is, do we become “a wise man”, and can we relish in the delights of our true King. Only then can we rightly enjoy our lives.
