The first thing the enemy throws at the woman is “Did God really mean what He said?

I mean, “Are you sure you heard God correctly?”

Woman get’s the answer correct!

Notice the woman did not fear the enemy.

She had not fear because she had no sin.

Second tactic the enemy used was He removed the consequence of sin.

The enemy said in , “ (ESV)

4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.” as a matter of fact the enemy continues and not only does he remove the idea of consequence for sin, but that God is holding out on you.

ESV 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Don’t worry.

You’re going to be okay.

Not only are you not getting in trouble, you are really going to be blessed for disobeying God.

How many of you all believe that somethings are just not for us.

When you remove the consequence of sin we no longer look to the word of God, we begin to look at the tree we look at it from a different perspective.

What perspective is that?

From the perspective of no consequences.

took = become insolent, i.e., behave in a proud and haughty manner, so showing arrogance and audacity toward an authority

Once we forget the consequence we pay more attention to the forbidden fruit

The biggest issue was not believing the enemy.

after we messed, we begin to cover up our mess.

We begin to get creative on how to cover up.

8 And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.

We begin to change and manufacture our own religion that leaves God out.

What happens when we mess up?

We try to fix it without God.

Hopefully God does not find out.

Or we look for others who are in the same boat and we work together creating a community without God.

Adam and Eve were doing just fine.

They manufactured there own covering.

They were enjoying the garden.

the snake was right.

we will not die.

They were okay until verse 8.

The biggest issue was not that they believed the enemy.

It was not just stealing from God.

It was trading in your blessing for a piece of fruit

The enemy is trying to get you to let go of what you got to get that what you can’t have and therefore lose what you do have.

It was not just stealing from God. It’s eating up the 10 % when He has given us the 90%.

Things begin to fall apart and we hide from God. Besides, He does not want us to live by knowledge as opposed to by faith.

Adam and eve had the whole garden to themselves including the tree of life.
