Exodus 15:18 NLT
18 The Lord will reign forever and ever!”
God Our Lord and King (Here we examine God in his role as absolute sovereign, or Lord and King. We'll consider such titles as King of Glory, God of gods, and Lord of lords. .)
Psalm 24 NLT
A psalm of David. 1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him. 2 For he laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean depths. 3 Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? 4 Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. 5 They will receive the Lord’s blessing and have a right relationship with God their savior. 6 Such people may seek you and worship in your presence, O God of Jacob. Interlude 7 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 8 Who is the King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty; the Lord, invincible in battle. 9 Open up, ancient gates! Open up, ancient doors, and let the King of glory enter. 10 Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory. Interlude

"Suzerain Treaties & The Covenant Documents the Bible")
Brief Summary of Suzerain Treaties:
In the Ancient Near East, treaties between kings was common. These were treaties drawn up among equals and mostly outlined agreements to honor each other's boundaries, to maintain trade relations, and return run-away slaves. These treaties are preserved in the Mari Tablets and in the Amarna texts. Also preserved in these collections are treaties drafted between a superior and his inferior. If the relationship was familial or friendly, the parties are referred to as "father" and "son." If the relationship is bereft of kindness and intimacy, the parties are referred to as "lord" and "servant," or "king" and "vassal," or "greater king" and "lesser king." The greater king is the suzerain and the lesser king is a prince, or a lesser lord in the service of the greater king. The lesser lord is a representative of all the common people who are under the protection of the greater king. He enforces the treaty among the masses.
These Suzerain/Vassal treaties open with two sections: 1) The identification of the Suzerain by his name and titles; 2) The historical survey of the Suzerain's dealings with the vassal. The purpose is to illustrate to the vassal how much the Suzerain has done to protect and establish the vassal who therefore owes submission and allegiance to the Suzerain. These two sections are referred to as the "Preamble."

are referred to as the "Preamble."
The next section of these treaties list the "stipulations." What the vassal is required to do is spelled out in principal and detail. This section is often concluded with the requirement that the vassal deposit his copy of the treaty in his temple, where he is to occasionally read and study it to refresh his memory concerning his duties.
The last section of these treaties contains the blessings and curses of the Suzerain. If the stipulations are met by the vassal, he will receive the Suzerain's blessings, which are listed. If the vassal fails to meet the stipulations, he will receive the Suzerain's curses, which are also listed.
The Suzerain would keep one copy of the treaty and the vassal would keep one copy of the treaty. A number of ratifying ceremonies were used depending upon the era and culture. But the most widely used rite was that of cutting the bodies of animals in halves and placing them in two rows with enough space between for the two parties of the treaty to walk side by side. As they walked between the pieces, they were vowing to each other, "May what has happened to these animals, happen to me if I break this covenant with you."

nd Tithes for the King
Q1 . Read and . How did tithing relate to a person’s acceptance of God being their King in the Old Testament? How about for those of us who live under the New Covenant? What place does tithing have for us?

Tithing, in was God's order to Israel to give 10% of their first fruits to the newly appointed king Saul. God felt that the Jews had rejected Him as their rightful king so the obligatory tithe would be due to His chosen earthly king. By paying this tithe to their earthly king Israel acknowledges the mandatory necessity of tithing to God, to support His kingdom on earth.
Paul address the need to support the work of the Lord in . While he doesn't specifically mention tithing per se, he does suggest that we give of our abundance to provide for the ministry. By following Old Testament guidelines of 10%, New Testament churches (and missions) flourish today.

2 chron 9:
Democracy and the Concept of King
cracy and the Concept of King
Q2 . What are the personal implications of Yahweh being your King and of Jesus being the Messiah sent from God? What are the advantages of being the subject of Yahweh as King? What does it mean for you to submit to the King on an everyday basis? How does a person reject Yahweh from being King over him or her?
The personal implications of Yahweh as my King are complete submission to his rule over my life and of Jesus as Messiah to is to live each day ready, and watching for His return.
As subject to Yaheweh as my King I can anticipate the full benfit of His love and devotion to me, as outlined in the many promises throughout the scritpures.
To submit to the King on a daily basis is to live a holy lifestyle, guided by the Holy Spirit, foresaking the world and it's lusts, remembering the weakness of the flesh, repenting when we acquiesce to it's sinful nature and resisting the devil. Fight the good fight of faith.
We reject Yahweh each time we rebel against His commandments, when we choose the world over our salvation.
The King, Yahweh of Hosts
Psalm 24:10 NLT
10 Who is the King of glory? The Lord of Heaven’s Armies— he is the King of glory. Interlude
Isaiah 6:5 NLT
5 Then I said, “It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”
King of Kings
1 Timothy 6:15 NLT
15 For at just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Romans 13:1–7 NLT
1 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. 2 So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished. 3 For the authorities do not strike fear in people who are doing right, but in those who are doing wrong. Would you like to live without fear of the authorities? Do what is right, and they will honor you. 4 The authorities are God’s servants, sent for your good. But if you are doing wrong, of course you should be afraid, for they have the power to punish you. They are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong. 5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. 6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.
Q3 . What are the implications for governments that Yahweh is the King of kings and Lord of lords? What are the implications of removing the name of “God“ from a nation’s currency and pledges, and ardently secularizing national life? Where does that put a nation with regard to God the King?
The implications of a government that respects and obeys the laws of Yahweh as the king of kings and Lord of Lords, are a number of blessings and righteous governing. When the Government obeys the laws of the Lord, the subjects are blessed by default. If we let God rule us, then everything will be good as He is the creator and owner of everything that is here. He is a good Lord and just God. There is no unrighteousness in Him and His rule is perfect. puts it across very clearly. But if we relegate our God to churches only and not let Him rule the hearts and minds of Government servants, then there is chaos and ultimately Godlessness, to which we are heading right now. Its high time that we realize our mistakes and undo what is being done in a systematic way.
Psalm 19 NLT
For the choir director: A psalm of David. 1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known. 3 They speak without a sound or word; their voice is never heard. 4 Yet their message has gone throughout the earth, and their words to all the world. God has made a home in the heavens for the sun. 5 It bursts forth like a radiant bridegroom after his wedding. It rejoices like a great athlete eager to run the race. 6 The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end. Nothing can hide from its heat. 7 The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. 8 The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. 9 Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. 10 They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. 11 They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them. 12 How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. 13 Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. 14 May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
The Lord (Adonai)
“Lord, master, owner,” and sometimes “husband.” It is a term for a person who deserves respect for his position or title.
Psalm 110:1 NLT
1 The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”
Psalm 8:9 NLT
9 O Lord, our Lord, your majestic name fills the earth!
Lord in the New Testament (kyrios)
In Greek kyrios translates YHWH, so in translation both “LORD “ and “Lord” appears as “Lord” without distinction.
Q4 . What is the significance of the confession “Jesus is Lord”? Why is this necessary for salvation, according to ?
Romans 10:9 NLT
9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
As kurios, Jesus the Christ is the Supreme Authority and Sovereign Master. Yahweh revealed those very titles to O.T. patriarchs as His own, so the use of this name for Jesus reveals that He Himself is Yahweh. We cannot overlook or attempt to dilute or eliminate the divinity of Jesus. The truth of His identity is crucial to salvation. Only pure holy God come to earth in human flesh could qualify as the spotless Lamb of sacrifice that could atone for the sins of humanity. He isn't one of many gods; He isn't just a good man or a great prophet; He isn't just a suffering servant of God. Jesus the Christ IS God!
According to , this is necessary for salvation because it must be realized as the truth born of the heart that each person confesses with their own mouth. That is the only salvation and reconciliation of man to God that exists. And in confessing that Jesus is kurios, the Supreme Authority, we also need to realize that He is King. Not only should our eternal souls be saved from the influence and consequences of sin, but also our submitted daily lives here on earth.

Living as Subjects of the King
We are not independent citizens of the earth, we are subjects of the King of the World. He is our Lord. He is our Ruler. He is our Prince and Sovereign Lord. The Kingdom of God is at hand in our lives to the degree that the King reigns in our hearts. Live so as to please your King, the Lord of Heaven and Earth.
