Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the Lord for ever: For in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.
So trust in the Lord (commit yourself to Him, lean on Him, hope confidently in Him) forever; for the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].

2. Why is Peace Important?
2. Why is Peace Important?
We were created to live in perfect peace
This is what Adam and Eve experienced -Why
Because they had perfect communion “koinonia” with God
Nothing between, complete trust,
Peace is an indication that all is well
Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.
Created for peace
Created for peace
Offend =cause to fall or stumble
ps 119:
God is looking for us to be in harmony and agreement with him
This is only possible through a relationship
3. David Understood Peace
3. David Understood Peace
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: For thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.
Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.
He learned this -he had to run from Saul for many years, but he likely learned this first when he was out with the sheep
Henry Gruver -made a decision to sleep in peace
4. Jesus Brought Real Peace
4. Jesus Brought Real Peace
During this season of the year we think of Christ coming to earth as a baby. It was prophesied by Isaiah that one of his names is Prince of Peace. A sign of this was also the angels proclaiming the birth of Jesus, by speaking “peace.”
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice From henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.
Is 9:6-7
Let's consider how this looked to the Jews at the time of Jesus. They were looking for Deliverer a man that would bring peace through force. Someone who would deliver them from the rule of the Romans and establish an earthly kingdom. A Prince of Peace who rules with earthly authority.
In the natural Jesus looked like a failure. He didn't bring peace to the area. He even said that he didn't come to bring peace, but a sword!
Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.
People's relationships were divided. People stopped following the religious rulers. Jesus left the world with 11 disciples and 120 who were willing to wait in an upper room for the Spirit of God to come upon them.
However, in the spirit, Jesus was the Prince of Peace. I don't believe any man ever walked in the same amount of peace that Jesus did. Why? Because peace is a result of perfect wholeness and health. Jesus' relationship with God was complete and perfect.
Jesus came to bring us into perfect relationship with God
But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed.
Chastisement =punishment, correction
He endured chastisement so that we can walk in peace!
Spirit->Soul->Body
And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
5. There is a False Peace
5. There is a False Peace
The false prophets were known for prophesying peace when God didn’t send them
This can be seen in Isaiah , Jeremiah and Ezekiel.
Paul also warned us of a time when people will proclaim peace:
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
We must be on guard against peace that bypasses the need to have peace with God!
The world or people who are natural minded, also desire peace and they go about attempting to create peace
Some attempt to get peace through uniformity -focusing on making things agree or harmonize in the natural. Sometimes things are forced. We see this a lot in religion. This only brings an illusion of peace. Those who are carnal believe that peace and order in the external will result in peace on the inside of man, but it never truly does.
Lack of peace is first spiritual. It is the fact that we are disconnected from God. This disconnection brings chaos, confusion, fear and turmoil.
6. Perfect Peace is available for each of us
6. Perfect Peace is available for each of us
Harmony with God and others Everything in perfect order Complete and total trust in God Wholeness and Completeness
Peace in our spirit is a sign of our faith toward God and our agreement with Him
Peace in our soul is a result of peace in our spirit and harmony and order in our relationships
The world or people who are carnal, also desire peace and they go about attempting to create peace

Our lack of peace is first spiritual. It is the fact that we are disconnected from God. This disconnection brings chaos, confusion, fear and turmoil.
Peace comes through agreement. Sometimes we as humans come to agreement and that results in a surface level peace. God's peace, the peace that is so great that it passes understanding is only available as we come into agreement with him. When we say, you are true, your ways are pure & perfect -and I choose to follow you no matter what.
During this season of the year we think of Christ coming to earth as a baby. It was prophesied by Isaiah that one of his names is Prince of Peace. A sign of this was also the angels proclaiming the birth of Jesus, by saying, "Peace on Earth, good will toward men."
People's relationships were divided. However, in the spirit, Jesus was the Prince of Peace. I don't believe any man ever walked in the same amount of peace that Jesus did. Why? Because peace is a result of perfect wholeness and health. Jesus' relationship with God was complete and perfect. As a result there was harmony and fellowship. He didn't need reconciliation since he was never separated, but for us, reconciliation is the way back to perfect peace. Firstly we need to be reconciled to God and then God can bring peace to our hearts and then the hearts of those around us.
Perfect peace is the result of completeness and wholeness is the result of our heart coming into agreement with God.
Not just mental agreement, but a believe and trust that sinks it into our heart where it becomes revelation.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on thee: Because he trusteth in thee.
mind=imagination
stayed = fixed, unflinching, relax -lean on
Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, Which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then had thy peace been as a river, And thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:
Peace as a river!
We can see that peace is available to us not just on a spirit level, but in our heart as well. God wants us to be able to abide in peace.
Peace comes through agreement. Sometimes we as humans come to agreement and that results in a surface level peace. God's peace, the peace that is so great that it passes understanding is only available as we come into agreement with him. When we say, you are true, your ways are pure & perfect -and I choose to follow you no matter what.

Not just mental agreement, but a believe and trust that sinks it into our heart where it becomes revelation.
There is no peace without trust. God wants us to be able to trust him with everything.
To often I am like Peter. He got distracted by the storm around him and then he started to sink.
I can so easily see what is right in front of me and forget that Jesus is also right there, waiting for me to reach out to him.
Is there something in your heart that needs to be reconciled to God? Something that needs to come into agreement with him? Don’t delay!
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Do you have peace? God’s word says that God’s peace in our heart needs to be the empire the decision maker.

If you knew that Jesus was physically sitting here with us today, how would you feel?
