Intro

Definition of joy
Christian joy is a good feeling in the soul, produced by the Holy Spirit, as he causes us to see the beauty of Christ in the word and in the world. - John Piper
Psalm 16:11 NKJV
11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
How can
One day a man said to God, “God, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.”
God showed the man two doors. Inside the first one, in the middle of the room, was a large round table with a large pot of stew. It smelled delicious and made the man’s mouth water, but the people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. God said, “You have seen Hell.”
Behind the second door, the room appeared exactly the same. There was the large round table with the large pot of wonderful stew that made the man’s mouth water. The people had the same long-handled spoons, but they were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.
The man said, “I don’t understand.” God smiled. It is simple, he said, Love only requires one skill. These people learned early on to share and feed one another. While the greedy only think of themselves… [Author unknown]
Pt: I don’t want you to have a gift that you don’t open open. I know I can’t make it, but I resolve not to be so heavenly bound til i’m no earthly good.
Declaration: I’ve got what it takes to get into His presence.
Declaration: I belong in His presence.
I’d challenge anyone to prove differently that joy comes any other way.
The crux of you opening the gift of joy, lies on
Psalm 16:11 NKJV
11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
“Wait a minute, I thought this was going to be germane to the holidays.”

You get there DELIBERATELY

We understand this is so many other ways.
you deliberately got dressed for church
going to an outside sporting event…you pick your clothes
Took my wife on a date-I deliberately got fresh and clean

You get there DIRECTLY

no need for layover flights
Foundational we have to know it’s ‘cause of Jesus
John 14:6 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

He’s given DIRECTIONS

Psalm 100:1–5 NKJV
1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! 2 Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.
ps 100:5
vs. 2 “come before His presence”
1st bring the joy you have.
“What if I don’t have any?” I DON’T WANT TO HEAR IT!!!! You have something because you’re saved!
Galatians 5:22 NKJV
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Galatians 5:22 NKJV
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
When I first read. I was going to tell you get loud for Jesus. Not what it’s saying.
2nd If you got a song…this is the power of music. We think we can only get in His presence with music.
