Vision 2017: Let
Humbled by Majesty:
Matthew 1:18-23
Introduction:
I.
A. PRAY: God, open our eyes, hearts & understanding today that when we worship it is in response to the majesty of Your glory, power & authority.
B. These men had traveled, following this star for possibly two years. Imagine, with the anticipation of seeing the One who is King, finally they gaze upon Him…
a. The Wise men bowed in humility to the majesty of the Christ-child. (When they bowed in prostration to worship Him.)They kneeled touching their foreheads to the ground in total, absolute reverence to the Christ child. What majesty. What worship. What humility.
b.
C. As they looked at this King-child they knew one day He would judge them. They knew He held the power of creation. They knew they were looking at God embodied in humanity.

II. MAIN POINT
Remember the application:
A. The Word John 1:1
a. Every part of creation from the stars to the seashore, forests to the desert, fish of the waters to the fowl of the air is His creative Word.
b. John 1:1 NLT says, "In the beginning the Word already existed." The Amplified Bible says, "In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ)" These wise men who had traveled so far to see Him was looking upon Him who has always existed.
c. Worship Him as The Word.
B. Gift of Salvation John 3:16
a. He would one day take away the sin of the world.
b. They knew He is the Peace of God & His name is called Wonderful, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
c. They had knowledge of His death yet is eternal.
d. Worship Him as the Gift of Salvation.
C. Anointed
a. Anointed to bind up the broken hearted - Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:18 (BIBLE)
b. Looking upon Him they knew all would hear His message. All would have opportunity for a transformed life with a renewed mind.
c. Looking upon Him they knew all who were bound could be freed. They knew He would wipe away every tear & conquer the fiercest enemy, death.
D. The Prophets of old Told of
a. They knew He was who Isaiah spoke of when he said, "Isaiah 7:14"
b. They knew He was who Isaiah spoke of when he said, "Isaiah 45:23"
c. Jeremiah & other Prophets…
d. Then knew He was the One who was told to Adam that one day would crush the head of the serpent, the deceiver.
E. Immanuel
a. As they looked upon this child they knew they were looking into the face of God. That God had come down to man.
b.
III. You will be Humbled by Majesty
A. As with the long journey of these men who brought gifts to this Christ-child & their response was Humbled by Majesty; one day, you & I, believers & unbelievers alike, when your eyes gaze upon the One… Who created the heavens creating the worlds with His Word, the One Who conquered death & the grave, defeated Satan the serpent casting him into the everlasting Lake of Fire…
a. How can your response be anything else but Humbled by Majesty?
b. How will you stand in His presence?
B. The reason we can do this is because of the resurrection of Christ.
- He asks us to:
* Repent
* Live by Faith
* Be Baptized
* Be Filled with His Spirit
Conclusion: PRESENT THE GOSPEL FOR SALVATION – EVERY WEEK – AND THE NEED TO COME FORWARD IN PUBLIC ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST
