Introduction
More than ever Christians need to exercise discernment when it comes to what they receive and believe.
[Illus.]
So let’s dive in to the biblical text and lets see what God has for us.
Paul’s Clear Preaching of the Word of God (v.1-3)
Paul’s Clear Preaching of the Word of God (v.1-3)
Let’s look at the text.
When they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a Jewish synagogue. As his custom was, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and proving that the Christ had to suffer and rise from the dead. “This Jesus I am proclaiming to you is the Christ,” he said.
Alright so Paul on the run from Phillippi ends up in Thessalonica. And what’s crazy is that Paul literally picks right back up where he left off. He heads straight to the synagogue. To do the very same thing, he’d already done before. And that is preach the gospel. You got to admire this man’s boldness and tenacity.

And so just like he always did. Paul begins to preach the gospel to the Jews there in Thessalonica.
However, I want you to notice that Paul’s no softy. He doesn’t give them some simple-minded sermon. And he’s definitely not just winging this. I want you to notice the verbs here. (v.2) Paul reasons, (v.3) Paul explains, (v.3 again) Paul proves, and finally, (v.3) Paul proclaims.
Let’s think about each of these.
